Cloaky Base for Linux

Cloaky Base ships for x64 Linux as an AppImage, deb or rpm package. Install the deb with sudo apt install ./Cloaky-0.1.3-amd64.deb, or the rpm with sudo dnf install ./Cloaky-0.1.3-x86_64.rpm. For the AppImage, mark the file you downloaded executable and run it:

chmod +x ./Cloaky-0.1.3-x86_64.AppImage
./Cloaky-0.1.3-x86_64.AppImage

What to know before you run it

• The Linux packages are unsigned. Your distribution may warn on first run. Check the download against the SHA256SUMS file attached to every release: sha256sum -c --ignore-missing SHA256SUMS.
• The AppImage needs FUSE 2. Install libfuse2(libfuse2t64 on Ubuntu 24.04 and later), or start the AppImage with --appimage-extract-and-run.
• Updates are checked against the release key. The app installs an update only when Cloaky's release key vouches for it. A deb or rpm update asks for your password, since it installs as a system package.
• Older distributions get an honest degrade. The in-app terminal needs glibc 2.34 or later (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, Fedora 35, RHEL 9). On an older one the app still runs, and the terminal reports why it cannot start.
• Linux is the least-proven platform — reports welcome on the feedback page.
